Cordoba

Cordoba was all about the food; empanadas, locro, tortas, and AMAZING steak for just a couple of dollars. We stayed three days with great weather and could definitely have stayed longer, but decided to get on the bus again, this time crossing the border to Uruguay...

Puerto Iguazu

In Puerto Iguazu we stayed at a crappy, cold little hostel, ate pizza and walked around. The highlight was, of course, the falls half an hour outside town. Probably the most impressing thing I've ever seen. After walking around the national park for a couple of hours, we took a boattrip into the falls which was amazing. Completely soaked but very, very happy, we took off on the 22 hour bus trip to Cordoba.

Palermo, Buenos Aires

View South America 2008 on hanna.s's travel map.

Buenos Aires is amazing, we were staying in Palermo which was a great area to be in, beautiful with lots and lots of restaurants and cafes. We stayed at the AMAZING hotel Miravida Soho, which is a brand new, tiny 6-room hotel with the most amazing breakfast. Our first day we spent walking around Palermo, and had fantastic steak and wine at La Cabrera. Back at the hotel we had another bottle of wine which was SO good and the strongest, darkest wine I've ever had. Yum yum. In the morning, we decided to leave for Puerto Iguazu, went to the bus station and used our brilliant Spanish to book a 20 hour trip north...

Budget accommodation in Argentina

Finally arrived in Buenos Aires

sunny 15 °C

We have finally, after two days in miserable Washington, arrived in Buenos Aires. Delays from Los Angeles made us miss the connection to BA, which resulted in a hotel night and a five dollar breakfast compensation. Already very much pissed off at the world's crappiest airline United, we got to the airport after a horrible rainy day in Virginia (?), just to find out that our BA-flight was delayed another day. Another hotel night, this time with a eight dollar breakfast voucher (oh, the improvements...) but the next morning we finally got on the plane. Sebastian was lovely and lost his passport two minutes before the last boarding call, but luckily the captain (!!) had it and now we're here. Arrived at 2AM, got to the hotel (which is awesome), had a shower and went out for some food and wine. Today we've had great hotel breakfast, and now looking forward to walking around in Palermo Soho where we are staying at the moment. Tonight BA's best steakhouse for dinner.
